| SCHEDULE
Day 1 9 am: Arrival to Vienna Airport (Austria). Transfer to the Hotel (3*) where you can enjoy a few hours’ rest, in order to recover from jet lag. 4 pm: After lunch ($) in the hotel’s restaurant, you’ll be invited to walk on the steps of the Habsburg Emperors. In the evening you’ll have dinner in a traditional Austrian tavern ($) Day 2 8 am: After breakfast we invite you to visit the Schonbrunn Imperial Palace and its amazing gardens (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site). In the afternoon you’ll arrive in Budapest, one of the nicest capital cities of Eastern Europe. (Hotel 3-4*). 4 pm: Your Hungarian gastronomic experience will begin at its’ best: supper in famous Gundel Restaurant, discover Downtown Budapest or to relax in the famous Gellert Furdo Spa. (B, D) Day 3 9 am: Culinary Workshop I. in a Restaurant. In the evening you’ll continue your gastronomical experience with a dinner in the legendary Matyas Pince Restaurant, a landmark of Budapest’s gastronomical history. (B, L, D) Day 4 9 am: Culinary workshop II. in some famous Restaurants. (B, L, D) 3 pm: In the afternoon guided city tour of Budapest with live gipsy music, an experience that you will never forget!!! Day 5 8 am: You’ll continue your tour with a trip to Hungary’s world known wine region – Tokaj - to an unforgettable wine tasting experience.. On the road we will stop to try the traditional Hungarian red vine “Bullsblood” (Bikaver) and to pay short visit to the amazing Eger Castle. (B, L, D) Day 6 8 am: We continue our trip to Szeged, in the southern part of Hungary, for a taste of the national spice, the Paprika, Culinary workshop III: cooking of the traditional Hungarian stew, the “Gulyas”, 8 pm: Arrival to Szeged, where you will enjoy a casual dinner: the spicy fish.(B, L, D) Day 7 8 am: Sightseeing, Pick Salami & Paprika Museum. On the way to the Bakony Mountains we will stop for a short while in Kalocsa, the home of Hungarian folk art and “paprika tradition”. 4 pm: In order to ease last days’ spicy cuisine, you’ll have lunch at a Winery in the Balatonfured Vine Region. Arrival and dinner at the Szarvaskut Hotel (4*) near Zirc (B, L, D)
Day 8 Culinary Workshop IV. you will be invited to discover another side of the traditional Hungarian cuisine. In the evening we will arrive to another charming city Szekesfehervar, “the town of Kings”. Dinner. (3*). (B, L, D) Day 9 In the morning we depart for Budapest where a full day of free activities awaits you. You will say good bye to this amazing country at the farewell party organized at the Pesti Vigado or other restaurant, according to availabilities (wine and aperitif included). (B, D) Day 10 After breakfast departure to Budapest Airport for the return flight to Montreal.

Note: Price based on 15 participants. Airfare price can change according to seat availabilities. Hotels in Wien, Budapest and Szeged are to be specified. Drinks and service charges not included for visited restaurants. Tourists will be accompanied by authorized local English/French speaking guide. Workshops will be conducted by well known local chefs and all recipes will be handed out to participants in the appropriate language. Tour can be combined with visiting gastronomical and culinary trade shows according to each season. |
